Adwa wereda is known for its cereal crop production specially wheat varieties. Some years ago, crop performance and production was good. Cultivation frequency, low use of agricultural inputs and repeated ploughs now leads to the fertility and production decline.

ISSD Tigray conducted regional workshop on the access of Early Generation Seed (EGS) in the presence of research institutions, government offices, project and NGOs on 22 December 2017 at Mekelle research center that is organized under the umbrella of Tigray Agricultural Research Institute (TARI).
